The main difference between Mac and PC is that PC has windows as an operating system, whereas Mac has an operating system made by Apple.
Due to its mass production and vast market, the PC is available in a wide range of prices and is relatively cheaper than Mac. Moreover, PC can be easily modified and customized. A PC user can upgrade the processor, motherboard, storage drive, memory, graphic card, video card, audio card, and much more according to their wishes. In contrast, Mac only allows the upgrade of memory and storage drive. Furthermore, since most people use PC, its market has flourished and has led to more applications for the PC than the Mac.
Although PCs are cheaper, their resale prices are lower compared to Mac. People are willing to pay a significant amount of cash for a brand-new Mac and a second-hand one. In addition, operating a PC can be difficult for new users as the interface is not as user-friendly as Mac.
Macs are visually appealing because of their beautiful designs, and those aesthetics significantly contribute to increasing or keeping their demand constant. For graphic designers and artists, Mac is ideal because of its high-powered retina display. Mac operating system is so user-friendly that even new users find it easy to operate. Apple’s customer service does a great job of customer satisfaction and backs up its product.
Mac is generally expensive and is known to cost more than the PC for the same specs. Moreover, Mac is inflexible to customization, and as most of the software is made for Windows, Mac OS doesn’t support all of them; hence, there is a limited number of applications for Mac compared to PC.
Windows’ operating system offers customization and is open for developers to write different programs, which leads to little control over security and can ultimately lead to certain problems like viruses, malware, adware, spyware, etc., corrupting the PC. In contrast, Apple is stringent in this regard. Furthermore, investigations have shown that there are fewer viruses made for it in the first place.
PC offers better graphic cards and hardware than Mac. PC also can support more external devices than Mac. Customization provided by PC also allows its users to upgrade any part they like however they like. And since most of the consoles and online games are compatible with PC, it is the better option for gamers.
It will be unfair to declare PC better than Mac or the opposite since it is dependent on what you want to use it for. If you are an average user and are looking for a more user-friendly, elegant device, Mac is a better option. However, if you are a programmer, an average user, or a gamer and are looking for a budget-friendly computer or laptop that can provide more flexibility, a PC is the way to go.
