Is Zack Snyder’s Cut of the Justice League Worth the Extra $70 Million and 4 Hours?

Back when Justice League was first announced, fans worldwide were very excited to see what director Zack Snyder had in store for them as a potential rival to MCU’s iconic Avengers series. But then came the news that Snyder had left the production team and was no longer working on the movie due to a personal tragedy he was facing at that time. Zack Snyder’s vision for the JL was then replaced by Joss Whedon’s. While fans were still somewhat excited, the result of what is now referred to as Justice League’s theatrical cut disappointed a vast majority.

This caused an uproar among fans, and the internet demanded that WB releases what Snyder had envisioned. This was given the name of Justice League’s Snyder Cut. After several months of demand, fans had started to give up hope that the cut was never going to be released. Shortly after, however, WB announced that Zack Snyder is back and looking to release an improved version of the Justice League movie that he always wanted to make.

Is Zack Snyder’s Cut of the Justice League Worth It?

Now that we’re in 2021, the Snyder cut of the JL has finally been released. It is entirely different as compared to the theatrical cut.  All the changes made to the movie made for an extra $70 million being spent on it. Zack Snyder’s Justice League has a runtime of almost 4 hours, making it one of the longest superhero movies in recent history. Since the fans now have their hands on it, we’re here to determine whether or not all the hype, the extra budget, and the 4-hour runtime are all worth it.

The first thing that needs to be said is that this probably isn’t a movie for those that aren’t fans of superheroes. While some superhero movies are universally enjoyable, even for those that aren’t big fans of the concept, Snyder’s JL is undoubtedly not one of them. But moving our attention to all those fans of the DCEU and those who demanded the Snyder Cut’s release, the 4-hour runtime and the wait were undoubtedly worth it. In addition, the Snyder cut is now widely regarded as a massive improvement upon the theatrical cut, which is good enough to make it worthwhile.

The movie features remarkably much-improved visuals and effects, along with a well-handled storyline for each character. It also has a much better take on Darkseid and Steppenwolf. If you’ve watched the other DCEU films, there is little doubt that you’ll love what the Snyder cut has done with most of the characters. While it could certainly be much better in a few aspects, Snyder’s JL is an enjoyable movie nonetheless. It has satisfied most fans, which makes it worth the extra $70 million budget.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
